BADMINTON – THE FRENCH SHORT SERVE TEST
What is the French short serve test in badminton?:- It is a skill-based test for Badminton players that helps in assessing the ability of short service of a Badminton player.
PURPOSE OF FRENCH SHORT SERVE TEST:
To measure the ability to serve accurately and low.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
- Badminton racket
- Shuttle cocks
- badminton court
MARKINGS OF BADMINTON COURT:
Four concentric quarter circles are drawn on the right service court. A rope is stretched 20 inches above the net and parallel to it. Markings 1½ inches wide in the form of arches are drawn on the floor at the distance of 22, 30, 38, and 46 inches from the midpoint of the intersection of the center line and the short service line of the right service court. The distance includes the width of the 2 inches line.
DIRECTIONS TO PERFORM FRENCH SHORT SERVE:
The subject stands in the service court diagonally opposite from the target. Twenty serves are attempted either consecutively or in groups of ten. The subject tries to send the shuttle between the net and the rope. The scorer is nearer the center of the left service court facing the target. The subject tries to hit the target area nearest the intersection of the center line and the short service line and short service line shuttles that hit on a line are given, the higher point value.

SCORING OF FRENCH SHORT SERVE TEST:
The zones are given point values of five, four, three, two, and one. Shuttle cocks that land on a line will score the higher value serves that fail to go between the rope and not that are out of the bounds of the right service court for doubles and that are not executed legally will score, zero the final score is the total of values made on twenty services
