Test administration of Indiana motor fitness test

PULL-UPS FOR BOYS

It consists of a horizontal bar in which the height of the horizontal bar is greater than the height of the subject. The subject has to do valid pull-ups and his score is according to the number of valid pull-ups he does.

FLEXED ARM FOR GIRLS

In this, the subject comes in the hanging position and brings her chin to the top of the horizontal bar with the help of a helper, so the subject has to hold it in this position for as long as she stays in the hanging position according to her ability. The time the subject remains in the hanging position is his score.

STRADDLE CHIN

 It is used to measure the strength and endurance of abdominal muscles. This test item is performed by individuals paired according to approximate equal heights. This subject to be tested is asked to lie on the back clasping hands of the partner who is in a stride stand position with body erect. The examinee chins as many times as possible, raising the body each time with back straight and in line with legs until it meets firm resistance from inside partner thighs.

FLOOR PUSHUP

 In this, the strength and endurance of the arm and shoulder of the subject are measured. In this, the subject comes in the proline position, keeps the palm of both his hands next to the chest, so that a 90-degree angle is made in both elbows, as soon as the signal is received, the subject pushes the ground with both hands and raises the body and again it goes back to the same position. The number of pushups the subject performs in a given time is his score.

VERTICAL JUMP

In this test, the player’s height is marked on the measuring board by raising one hand, which can be in cm or inch. On getting the signal, the subject jumps upwards with all his might and tries to mark above the previously marked mark. In this, to measure the scoring, the difference between the starting mark and the end mark touched by the player is considered as the score.

SQUAT THRUST

 In this test, the explosive power of the leg muscles is measured. The player has to jump forward from the take-off point with both feet simultaneously, for scoring the subject, the distance he jumps within 20 seconds after take-off is measured, and the subject is given three chances. The one who performs the best is his score.

After measuring the performance in various test items, the following indices are calculated for college men;

                  Index 1; [straddle chins + pushups] * vertical jump/100

                  Index 2; [straddle chins + pushups]* SBJ/100
